Many dogs are victims to puppy mills. A puppy mill is an establishment that breeds dogs in harsh conditions and inhumanely so they can quickly breed dogs and make a larger profit. Many of the puppies in pet shops are puppies from puppy mills. The parents of the puppy may have been used for breeding since it was very young and has been constantly breeding with no rest.

When it gets too tired and can no longer breed the dogs are often killed or abandoned. Puppies from puppy mills are often sick and are extremely weak.
